Marathon Musings
Today I ran in the Miami Marathon for the second year in a row.
The bad: My time was bad. I mean embarrassingly bad. It's my fault though; I knew I hadn't done enough distance training. I just thought that regular conditioning, plus holding back at the beginning and fueling more, would compensate. How wrong I was!
The good: It was still a great run. The course is so pretty, it's no wonder people come from all over the country to run in this marathon (we had a record number this year). And the volunteers and people cheering us on are just AWESOME! I even saw a baby clapping, hehe. And I did finish and got my lovely finisher's medal. As long as you finish, you've succeeded I say. And now that I know what I did wrong, I WILL beat my time next year, dammit!
Love,
"Kay"
